Founded in 2016, IQBlade’s software platform enables tech companies to make smarter, data-driven growth decisions with market insight and intelligence. Its aim is to give businesses a competitive advantage in the B2B environment.
As with most emerging software companies, the company was finding balancing its day-to-day workload with its longer-term roadmap to be a challenge. Evaluating and developing complex new functions was taking a significant amount of time and wasn’t always delivering any immediate benefit.
The company was already aware of the Activate programme through previous discussions with LJMU some time ago. However, the project really started to take shape when they met with one of the Data Science experts from the Department of Applied Maths at LJMU’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology and it became evident how the programme could support IQBlades ability to automatically cluster market intelligence.
After an initial diagnostic to determine what would most benefit IQBlade, the company received 12 hours of practical support focused on helping its developers and data scientists to accelerate their ideas for new algorithms that could be used to develop two new functions within its software platform. The support was split into a series of short sessions, allowing the business to spread minimise its impact on day-to-day work and to receive different input at different stages of the algorithm development, whilst having the technical expertise industrialise the code developed.
The assistance provided by Activate has allowed the IQBlade team to move from concept to pilot in just over three months and the business now intends to industrialise the pilots and put the new functions into its live platform.
